Privacy Policy for SpendFlex

Last updated: August 11, 2026

SpendFlex is an offline-first personal finance app designed to help you manually track expenses, income, refunds, budgets and savings.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, when information can leave your device, and what choices you have.

1. Financial data stored on your device

SpendFlex stores its core data locally on your device, including:

  • Expenses, income and refunds you enter or import
  • Descriptions, amounts, currencies, categories, dates and receipt photos
  • Budgets, category limits, accounts, payment methods and merchant rules
  • Recurring entries, savings goals and related history
  • Language, theme, privacy, notification and other app preferences

SpendFlex does not require a SpendFlex account, does not connect to your bank, and does not upload this financial data to a developer-run server. Face ID, Touch ID and device credential checks are performed by your operating system; SpendFlex does not receive biometric data.

2. Exports and backups you choose

You can export reports or create backups and choose where to save or share those files. Depending on your device, this may include Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, another storage provider, or another app shown in the system share sheet.

SpendFlex sends a file to that destination only after you select or authorize it. Once saved or shared, the destination provider's terms and privacy policy apply. SpendFlex does not copy those files to a developer-run cloud service.

3. Currency conversion

If you request a foreign-currency conversion, SpendFlex contacts the ExchangeRate-API open endpoint at open.er-api.com. The request contains the base currency code. It does not contain your expense amount, description, category or transaction history.

Like any internet request, the provider may receive standard network information such as your IP address, device network metadata and the request time. Exchange rates are cached locally so the app can reuse the latest available data.

4. Purchases and Premium access

In-app purchases, subscriptions, introductory offers and optional tips are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat helps SpendFlex verify purchases and determine whether Premium is active.

These services may process an app-generated purchase identifier, device and operating-system information, product identifiers, store receipts or purchase tokens, transaction status and entitlement data. SpendFlex does not receive or store your payment card details.

Their own privacy policies apply: RevenueCat, Apple and Google.

5. Support and feedback

When you choose to send a bug report, suggestion or support email, SpendFlex opens your email app with information you entered and useful technical context such as plan status, region, language, date, platform version and app version. You decide whether to send it and whether to attach a screenshot. Your email provider then processes that message under its own terms.

6. No ads or in-app usage tracking

SpendFlex contains no advertising SDK, no third-party app-usage analytics SDK and no third-party crash-reporting SDK. Apple and Google may independently process store, download or platform diagnostics under your device and store settings; that processing is controlled by those platforms, not by SpendFlex.

7. Sharing and sale of data

SpendFlex does not sell your personal or financial data. Information leaves the app only for the limited purposes described above:

  • Apple, Google and RevenueCat for purchases and entitlements
  • ExchangeRate-API when you request a currency conversion
  • A destination you choose for an export or backup
  • Your email provider when you choose to send support or feedback

8. Data retention

Local data remains on your device unless you delete it, reset app data or uninstall the app. Files you exported or backed up remain wherever you saved them until you delete them there.

Purchase data and emails may be retained by RevenueCat, Apple, Google or your email provider according to their own policies and legal obligations.

9. Your choices

You can:

  • Delete entries, accounts and other data inside the app
  • Export or back up your data to a location you control
  • Change app settings inside the app
  • Uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device
  • Contact us about data you deliberately sent by email

10. Children's privacy

SpendFlex is intended for general audiences.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when SpendFlex's features or service providers change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
